Throughout the course of the unit the students have had many informal and formal assessments. They start out with an introductory assessment to gauge their prior knowledge on the topics that are to be presented to them throughout the unit. They have classwork as well as questions for homework in which they have to reflect on what we did in class that day to solidify that information in their minds. Each lesson has its own handouts and worksheets to be completed in class and stored in their scientists notebook. Each of these assignments will be chosen at random and graded, forcing students to put their best foot forward in every assignment they are given in class. There will be in class labs that they will also be assessed on as well as an end of the unit exam that will be accumulative of all information presented in the 10 lessons taught.
